Look for these labels
Annual electricity consumptionUsually shown in kWh. Do not enter the account balance, bill cost or meter reading.
Annual gas consumptionGas annual usage is also shown in kWh, even though the meter may record cubic metres.
Unit rateOften shown as pence per kWh. This is not the annual usage figure.
Standing chargeUsually pence per day. This is separate from usage.
Tariff or contract end dateUseful for a conversation, but not needed for the calculator.

Likely electricity rangeMany homes fall broadly between 500 and 30,000 kWh a year.
Likely gas rangeGas-heated homes often fall broadly between 1,000 and 60,000 kWh a year.

This release helps you find and record the figures but does not use OCR or artificial intelligence to read the document. That avoids sending sensitive documents to an external service.
A future secure version could add confirmed, consent-based extraction.
